Parkinson's Support Group of Central Brevard

The South Brevard Parkinson's Care Partner Group
The South Brevard Parkinson's Care Partner Group is a separate support group for friends, family members and anyone helping to care for someone with Parkinson's.
When: The first Friday of every month at 10am.

Caregiver Academy
Caregiver Academy is lead/taught by Janet Rooks. It is open to all caregivers, not solely Parkinson's. The group meets in Titusville at Heritage Hall. Information is dispensed on a wide variety of topics, some of which have included: Healthy Eating, Preventing Falls, Alzheimers Behavioral Tips, Self Care for the Caregiver, Hospice, Legal topics.
When: Every 2nd Tuesday of the month from 10-11am.

IRCC Parkinson's Support Group at One Senior Place

The IRCC Parkinson's Support Group meets at One Senior Place, 8085 Spyglass Hill Rd, Viera, FL the second Tuesday of every month from 4:15-5:30pm. The group originator is Larry Smith and the One Senior facilitator is Barbara Fradkin. People with Parkinson's as well as their care partners are encouraged to attend.

Kindred at Home Safe Strides Program
Kindred's Safe Strides Program is a progam for people with PD focusing on the prevention of falls. It includes comprehensive evaluation and training as well as inner ear evaluation.

Rock Steady Boxing at Advanced Fitness

Instructor Janice Moia leads the Rock Steady Boxing classes at Advance Fitness and has many years of experience as a physical therapist assistant and working with Parkinson's patients. Come and observe a class. There is no cost for doing so. And then the first class is free! Cost of classes are $70 per month for unlimited classes. An assessment and doctor approval is required before you can begin taking classes.
Rock Steady Boxing is a non-contact nationally recognized exercise program designed specifically for people with Parkinson's Disease. It has been shown to be affective in reducing symptoms and enhancing the quality of life of PD patients thru building strength, balance, flexibility, and speed.

Rock Steady Boxing at Unlimited Kickboxing
This is a nationally recognized exercise program for people with Parkinson's Disease, helping people to better manage some of the symptoms of the disease.
Cost is $10 - $15 per class depending on the number purchased.

Rock Steady Boxing on the Treasure Coast
Rock Steady Boxing Treasure Coast enables people with Parkinson’s and other neurological disease to fight their disease by providing non-contact boxing-style fitness programs that improve their quality-of-life and sense of efficacy and self-worth.

Melbourne Terrace - LSVT BIG and LOUD Program
Melbourne Terrace Rehabilitation Center offers two programs devised specifically for Parkinson's patients with the goal of improving their quality of life, LSVT LOUD and LSVT BIG.
LSVT LOUD helps Parkinsons patients to be better understood verbally, while LSVT BIG provides them with an exercise program that will helps with gait and balance.
